Total commitment to the Lord’s work is an all encompassing responsibility which becomes an integral part of all the years of a Christian’s life. Audrey Fuller met this responsibility cheerfully and willingly. During their young adult years, Audrey and her husband, Menzo, did what most couples do; they earned a living, began raising two daughters and worked hard in the North Loup, NE Seventh Day Baptist Church. They also adopted twin nephews after their parents’ tragic death.
When their children became independent Audrey and Menzo left the comfort of North Loup and went to Africa to serve in Malawi, sharing the love of Christ with the natives. Audrey was also employed as a missionary nurse there.
When they returned from Africa in 1980 they settled in Shiloh, NJ where Audrey was a member of the Ladies Benevolent Society. For several years she served on the Sabbath School Missionary Committee, helping to meet international, denominational, community, and individual needs. She also served as a consultant on the Shiloh/Marlboro Africa Committee for the Missionary Society. She brought experience and insight to the local Board of Christian Education and led the primary age youth group.
Her care for children does not end when she leaved the church building but she served as a surrogate grandparent for some church children including providing full-time live in responsibilities when parents are called away overnight. She was also a member of the Shiloh church choir.
Audrey gave desperately needed regular relief to a family devoting full time care to an Alzhiemers Disease victim. She also became active in a newly formed day care center for victims of the same disease. She also became a supporter of the Ranch Hope for Boys program which turned the lives of troubled boys to Christ.
