In her local church at Battle Creek, MI she labored lovingly in many areas: Youth Counselor, Adult Sabbath School Superintendent, Intermediate Sabbath School Superintendent, Camp Director, Church Organist, Ladies Aid President, Church Clerk.
Mrs. Feathersten was in service to the Seventh Day Baptist denomination as President of the Women’s Society (1952-1955), Executive Secretary (1956-1961), Chairman Budget Promotion Commission, Member of Board of Directors of Salem College (1960).
In 1963 she was nominated and elected first Vice President and named a member of the Commission for three years.
In 1964 she was elected the first woman president of the Seventh Day Baptist General Conference in the United States.
