Elizabeth Fischer Davis legacy lives on as the person who wrote the ‘Youth Rally Song.’ She also penned several other children’s songs.
Mrs. Davis graduated valedictorian from State Teachers College in Trenton, NJ after which she accepeted a teaching position in Red Oak but later resigned out of a desire to go and help the less fortunate and went to aide the missionaries in the Southwest.
She was the first teacher of the school in Fouke, AK, which later became Fouke Academy. She later became principal of the school. She was active in her community in the PTA, chairman of the Cumberland County Council for 4 years, supervisor of music ad the Stow Creek Township School and active for 50 years in the WCTU.
In her church Mrs. Davis was active calling on the shut-ins and ill. She was also active in Ladies Aid, a Sabbath School teacher, superintendent of the primary and junior departments of the Sabbath School. gave music lessons, directed Junior Choir, and helped organize and direct the Men’s Chorus of the West District.
